RE: Shooting at Camp ground?

Markham Park in Sunrise, Florida,
part of Broward County Park System.
They have their own shooting range - it is huge!
Also remote air plane area.
Also huge mountain biking area.
Also a swimming pool.
Also fishing in the canals along Alligator Alley at the Everglades........
Oh yeah, and about $24 a night!

RE: Canoe storage on 5th wheel

Our canoe if 15'5" and it fits fine.
We use the THULE goalposts on the front
and use the racks on top. WE can carry 2
canoes if we need to (and have.......)
It sticks out about 4 feet in the front;
but who cares we stick out 30 feet in the
back (hahahaha)

RE: Water heater not lighting on gas only

Still can't get it to work.
I made ALL the suggestions above - bad thermocouple, check the circuit board.
The fridge works on propane also.........
just not the hot water heater......
oh well, back to the drawing board. We leave Friday on vacation,
and hopefully ALL the campgrounds don't lose power on us.........
We'll just have to get it fixed before our next drycamping trip!

RE: Sidewinder, Superglide or HiJacker

A 38 foot fiver with an F250?
What does that thing weigh?
What is the pin weight going to be?
We have a 31 foot fiver and bet we are pushing the limits.......
I dunno.........

RE: sink in bedroom

Ours is in the bedroom, along with the shower. The toilet is in a 'closet' type of room, and it is sorta small - but we live with it.
We like the lay out of our trailer and it works for us!

RE: Keystone cougar

I can only talk about the Keystone Cougar, as we bought a new one left over from 2007 on 2/1/08. We love it. No problems so far. We've been on quite a few short trips so far and leave for our 2 week vacation next week!
For the price - it was a deal I feel. Could have spent $20,000-$30,000 and gotten better quality cabinets, and maybe the "looks" might look richer, but I am SO pleased with our selection. I have not had to take it back to the dealer for anything that we couldn't just fix ourselves. Not a leak, not a drip, nothing cracked or broken. Everything works perfect. (except now for a little "won't light on propane problem" we are having with the water heater, but the DH think he knows what that is and will fix it before we leave next week!)
Good luck with your choice - we are pleased as punch with ours!

RE: Memory Foam May Have Saved Me $8,000 and the Jayco 26L.

We had the 3 inch memory foam topper in the back bed of our last hybrid we had for 4 years. We have a 1 inch memory foam on the bunk bed and also in the front queen tent end in the front of the trailer. It was great!
Now we have a fifth wheel with a queen bed and I have a 3 inch memory form in it.
Would not consider leaving home without my memory foam.
Happy camping.

RE: Slider Hitch??

At least with the SuperGlide it is automatic and
no need to get out of the truck.
We live in South Florida, rains everyday at 3PM, so
we don't want to have to get out in the rain or the
mud to release the slider bar.
We are glad we have it.....
Good luck with your choice!

RE: Slider Hitch??

Yes, we got the slider hitch.
We got the Pullrite SuperGlide.
No matter what brand you go with,
you'll probably need it sooner or later.
Never thought I'd need my 4x4 either,
then I did!

RE: Golf Carts in Fl State Parks

Well I emailed them anyway.
I personally think it is a bad idea
unless you are disabled - leave our
beautiful state parks alone!

RE: HELP FIGHT THE FUEL PRICES! MUST READ!

don't matter to me what fuel costs as I won't be using any!
I'll be home looking at the internet hoping to find another
job..........try to ride my bike to work.........even if it
does rain, I'll show up, I need the money!
I am being a smart-aleck but I've signed my name anyway!

RE: Golf Carts in Fl State Parks

Now I know why I saw people (including kids) driving golf carts this past 4th of July weekend at Lake Kissimmee State Park.
I didn't know this was going to happen.
I think if you have a handicap sticker for driving and parking your camper, then you should be allowed to use your golfcart - otherwise my vote is "NO......
I will email the state park system now about my concern.
There WERE kids driving those carts and if one hits my truck or camper then I truly won't be a happy camper!

RE: Diesel performance

We just got back from a 400 mile, one way trip,
and we averaged 11.5 MPG.
I checked it with my calculator to be accurate
as we are leaving on a 1800 mle vacation in less
than two weeks and wanted to check it for figuring
up our diesel fuel expense.

RE: Suggestions Northern Georgia SP SUmmer 2009

We are going to Vogel state park, AGAIN, this summer. We will be there last week of July. Last year it was in May!
We did hiking there, and LOTS around the area too as you are at the Appalachian trail. Lots of falls to hike to within the area.
Enjoy,
We leave 7/25 for our BIG 2 week trip!

RE: Water heater not lighting on gas only

I'll mention all of that to the DH this weekend.
He was reading the books on it - so I don't know what he'll
try next!
Thanks for the info.

RE: Water heater not lighting on gas only

I know the batteries are fine, that was checked. (we have 2 as we dry camp....)
We assume it IS getting the gas/propane as the stove worked on both tanks of propane.
It works great on electric/shore power, just not when unplugged.
I don't remember what 'type' it is but I will check brand when I get home.
Thanks guys,

Water heater not lighting on gas only

Hi,
This past weekend was a horrendous camping weekend for us! First at the CG when we plugged in 'we had our own fireworks going on'....The danged receptible was bad. My DH is an electrician so he told the 20 year old ranger to just 'let me do it, before you kill yourself'....Then our a/c kept cutting off every 15 mins. Surge protector evidently was indicating spikes in voltage......so on and off it went. Then the microwave seemed to 'wave' slowly......so we didn't use it. Then when we turned on the water heater it would blow the a/c off again, so we wanted to use it just on propane. Well, it wouldn't light. Stove worked, we even switched tanks, but still would not light. Hubby at this point just wanted to pack it in and get home and plug back into our own shore power! We toughed it out, had no hot water all weekend, but it is hot here anyway, so it was okay for those cool showers!
Anyone have any suggestions what to check on the water heater. He has read our brochures on it, not sure what to check next. We have only had the camper 5 months and it did work for us last time we dry camped for 4 nights back end of March.
Thanks for any info! We leave on our 2 week vacation in 2 weeks)
